Role:

Opportunity:

Dwell’s existing app was a PDF viewer of their print magazine, and I identified through user research that Dwell’s content should be easier to navigate, search, and share with others.

Solution

In this conceptual case study, I constructed a new mobile app for Dwell to provide a proper home to exceptional storytelling.

The original app was a PDF viewer of their print magazine, and I identified through user research that Dwell’s content should be easier to navigate, search, and share with others.

The new Dwell logo resembles a modernist roofline, the “D” in Dwell, and the shape of a phone in perspective.

The photos tab utilizes a grid optimized for sharing, and the attached metadata makes it easy to navigate to the article or project where the photo is featured.

Dwell offers expertly-curated home, office, and lifestyle products, and brining their e-commerce potential to a native app was a priority in this redesign.
